There is nothing better than feeling loved and appreciated! Making sure that your coaches and teammates feel like that can make a big difference. Whether someone is sharing their skills with you or right by your side for every step of your dance journey, your teammates and coaches are your dance world and support system. They experience doubts and insecurity just like you do! Let’s make everyone feel appreciated this year!

Leave a Note

A little positivity or words of encouragement can go a long way. Leave some fun, encouraging, or funny notes for them to find. Write down inside jokes, simple quotes, or just little drawings. You can leave multiple for them to find in their locker, car, notebook, or dance bag. Who wouldn’t smile at receiving a positive note randomly from a friend? Get creative with it! You can write down songs they should listen to, put links to funny YouTube videos, or just share your thoughts. Think outside of the box, and make a variety of different notes.

Give Them a Call

Sometimes, all that you need is someone to talk to. Whether you need to vent or just get your mind off of what is bothering you, having a person there is important. Either way, a call is very easy to make. It is pretty simple to fit into your schedule, even if you are busy. You always have time to listen! If you’re truly busy, you can multitask and do things such as laundry, go for a walk, or stretch. Even if it is just a thirty-minute phone call, it is sure to mean a lot to someone who may need some company that day. This is a great way to let your coaches know you are thinking of them—maybe slip into the call what a great job they are doing and how much you have learned from them.

Give a “This Made Me Think of You”

The idea is to let people know you are thinking of them! Whenever you see something or have an idea that reminds you of someone, let them know! Start small by sending a song that reminds you of someone, getting them their favorite fast food snack, or making a friendship bracelet. If you’re feeling extra crafty, make them something team-related like a custom tote bag or bow. The options are endless. Get creative with it and have fun! Just think of what they like, and how you can incorporate that into something nice for them.
