Whether you are on the way to math class or the studio, having your hair on point is a sure way to make your day easier. A good hair day is an easy confidence boost to keep you glowing throughout the day. However, with a long day of school and dance, keeping your hair looking flawless can be a challenge. Lucky for you though there are plenty of hacks to make it easier!

Essential Products

There are some essential products you should try to keep on hand. You never know when your hair is going to need a touch-up throughout the day. Dry shampoo and hairspray are two of the most basic essentials. Luckily, you can find both of these in travel sizes so they are compact and easy to carry in your backpack or dance bag. Dry shampoo will make sure that your no-wash day hair will still look good at the end of the night, and hairspray will help to keep your slick-backs tamed and nice. Round out your hair tool kit with a comb, slicking brush, and toothbrush (for flyaways).

Low-Maintenance Hairstyles

Keeping your hairstyles simple will shorten your morning routine and reduce maintenance throughout the day. Some ideas for low-maintenance hairstyles include: slick-back ponytails/buns, simple braids, and double Dutch/French braids. All of these should still look as fabulous at practice as they did at school, and they will all keep your hair out of your face during dance so you aren’t doing turns with hair in your face!

Overnight Hacks

Sometimes it is not about how you do your hair in the morning but what you do with it when you sleep. One of the easiest things to do is make sure you are not damaging your hair when sleeping. This means using a silk pillowcase to prevent breakage, as well as something like braids for the same reason. These can also both make sure you wake up with smoother, nicer-looking hair.

Hair Accessories, Your New Best Friend

Having the right tools, products, and even accessories for your hair makes a world of difference. Accessories ranging from hair ties and bobby pins to claw clips will make your life easier. Throw them in your bag so you can always pull your hair back when needed, and if you are having a bad hair day just put it in a claw clip. Plus, these are all small so they won’t take up much space in your backpack or dance bag.
