Are You Feeling Peachy About 2024?

After a year in Pantone’s “Magentaverse” (and we certainly were surrounded by bold pink hues throughout 2023), the next Color of the Year has been announced. From “powerful and empowering” Viva Magenta, the color experts have moved on to the “velvety gentle” Peach Fuzz.

A color that Pantone says “enriches heart, mind, and body,” Peach Fuzz was chosen as the Pantone Color of the Year 2024 as a kinder, more heartfelt color. While the 2023 color was a bold step forward, Peach Fuzz is soft and focused on togetherness and quiet. Pantone explained their reasoning, “…in a world which often emphasizes productivity and external achievements, it is critical we recognize the importance of fostering our inner selves and find moments of respite, creativity, and human connection amid the hustle and bustle of modern life.” Peach Fuzz is about down-to-earth priorities.

Setting a theme of comfort for the year is just the start. Pantone sees Peach Fuzz as a color meant for “sueded, velvety, quilted, and furry textures,” accent patterns, “fresh and youthful” hair and beauty styles, and contemporary designs. This is a color we have seen in 2023 as well. The backdrop for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour features the peach tones of the parachutes that reveal Taylor’s entrance onto the stage. Showstopper is also embracing a warm pink and orange style for 2024 as we approach an incredible 46th year of celebrating dancers and dance across the United States.
