Every year, students struggle to balance their lives outside of dance. Despite that difficulty, you can’t skip the struggle and just let life happen. It’s important to find balance between life and dance. Knowing your limits and managing your commitments are the perfect prevention for burnout.

Not everything is about dance, so being able to go out and hang out with friends is the perfect distraction from the stresses dance might bring. It’s hard to make time between practice, class, and school; however, taking time to give yourself a break is the best way to step away from the dance world

Find a Relaxing Hobby

Whether it’s taking some time to do yoga or to journal in your notebook, prioritizing your wellness is extremely important. Finding time to forget about dance is the perfect way to find time for yourself. The best part about this is you can take a dance partner out of the studio with you!

Hang Out with Friends

It’s easy to forget about friendships when you’re busy with dance and school, but it’s important to maintain those friendships while at dance. There are many ways to hang out with friends, but taking the time to reach out and talk is the most important. Decompress together!

Have a Study Date

It’s easy to get sidetracked with school when you’re always dancing. The perfect way to solve this is to take yourself on a study date, get a fun refresher, and do all that work you missed out on during competition season. Study dates are open to your imagination and can be done anywhere from a cafe to your living room.

Gather Inspiration

Some might call it bedrotting, but a YouTube deep dive is the perfect way to gain inspiration through watching videos. Whether you’re watching your own videos or day-in-the-life vlogs, this is a great way to rest your body and review your mindset.
