If you’ve been following Kenzie Ziegler since her Dance Moms days, seeing her name on a Broadway cast list is a pretty exciting full-circle moment. She’s come so far from “staying home and eating chips” (if you know, you know). After years of dancing, singing, acting, and creating content, Kenzie is officially taking on a whole new stage: Broadway! Kenzie made her Broadway debut in & Juliet on September 15, 2026, stepping into the featured dance role of Charmion at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York City. Her limited appearance runs through November 1.

From Dance Moms to Broadway

A lot of us first remember Kenzie as one of the young dancers on Dance Moms, where she appeared alongside her older sister, Maddie Ziegler, during the show’s first six seasons. Since then, Kenzie has built a career that goes way beyond competitive dance. She’s released music, acted, created social media content, and continued developing herself as a performer. Now she’s adding Broadway performer to that list. She is becoming more than a triple threat.

Meet Charmion

Kenzie isn’t playing Juliet herself. She’s taking on the role of Charmion, a featured ensemble dancer in the production. Charmion is a dance-heavy role, which makes Kenzie’s background especially perfect for it. Previous performers in the role have included TikTok star and dancer Charli D’Amelio and Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez. It’s also a pretty cool connection between different types of performers—dancers, athletes, and social media personalities—who have all brought their own talents and energy to the character.

What Is & Juliet?

If you’ve never seen the musical, here’s the basic idea. & Juliet asks what might have happened if Juliet didn’t follow the ending of Shakespeare’s original story. Instead, she gets the chance to start a new chapter and figure out what she wants for herself. The show combines this reimagined Shakespeare story with a soundtrack built around pop hits written or produced by Max Martin and his collaborators. So think Shakespeare, huge pop songs, colorful costumes, comedy, and LOTS of dancing.

Why This Is Such a Big Moment for Kenzie

Making your Broadway debut is a huge career milestone for any performer or celebrity. For Kenzie, it’s also a completely different environment from the dance competitions and TV sets where audiences first got to know her. Broadway requires performing the same production repeatedly while maintaining your technique, energy, character, and focus. It’s not just about learning choreography—it’s about becoming part of an entire professional theater company.

What Dancers Can Learn From Her

If you’re a dancer watching Kenzie’s Broadway journey, don’t just watch for the tricks or choreography. Pay attention to the performance quality. Watch how she uses her face, how she hits musical accents, how she moves with an ensemble, and how she maintains energy throughout a production. Broadway is a great reminder that being a strong dancer isn’t only about having impressive skills. Being able to perform, adapt, work with other people, and tell a story matters too.

So if you’re a Kenzie fan—or just a dancer dreaming about performing professionally—this is definitely a Broadway journey to keep an eye on.
