How to Make Boo Baskets for Your Teammates

Spooky season is officially here, which means it’s time for pumpkin patches, Halloween movies, cute fall outfits, and one of the best ways to celebrate your favorite people: boo baskets!

If you’ve been seeing these adorable Halloween gift baskets all over your feed, why not make a few for your dance team? They’re such a fun way to surprise your teammates, show them some love, and bring a little extra excitement to the studio this October. The best part is that boo baskets don’t have to be expensive or complicated. You can make them as simple or as extra as you want, and adding a few personal touches makes them feel even more special and unique.

Pick a Cute Halloween Theme

Before you start shopping, decide what vibe you want your boo baskets to have. Are you going for pink and girly Halloween, classic orange and black, or a more cozy fall aesthetic? Having a theme makes it easier to choose items that look cute together.

Fun Themes to Try:

You can even choose a different theme for each teammate based on their personality!

Find an Affordable Basket or Bag

You don’t need a fancy basket to make your gift look adorable. In fact, using something simple can help you save money for the fun stuff inside! Try using mini Halloween buckets, paper gift bags, reusable cups, small storage bins, or even decorated lunch bags. Look for affordable ones at dollar stores or craft stores, especially if you’re making baskets for a whole team.

Include Their Favorite Treats

No boo basket is complete without a little treat! Add a few individually wrapped candies, chocolates, cookies, or other snacks your teammates enjoy. You could also include a favorite drink packet, hot cocoa mix, or a seasonal snack. If you’re not sure what someone likes, keep the options simple and check for allergies or dietary restrictions before including food.

Make Each Basket Personal

This is what takes a boo basket from cute to special and meaningful. Instead of giving everyone the exact same collection of items, try adding one or two things that remind you of each teammate. For example, you could include their favorite color, a sticker related to an inside joke, a small accessory that matches their style, or a treat they always bring to practice. You can also write a little note for each person. A simple message about how much you enjoy dancing with them or how glad you are to have them on the team can make the whole gift feel more meaningful.

Add a “You’ve Been Booed!” Note

Want to make your boo baskets feel like a real Halloween surprise? Add a little tag that says “You’ve Been Booed!” You can decorate it with ghosts, pumpkins, stars, or tiny bats. If you’re feeling creative, design your own tags and print them out, or simply make them by hand with colorful markers.

Plan a Cute Team Surprise

Once your boo baskets are ready, think about how you want to give them out. You could hand them to your teammates before rehearsal, set them up together before a team hangout, or exchange them after practice. You could also take a cute group photo with your baskets if everyone is comfortable being photographed. It’s an easy way to capture a fun little Halloween memory!
