“No matter if it’s something big or something small, you just have to take that risk and try something new.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

I’ve been dancing since I was two years old and so dance has always been a sort of outlet for me. No matter if I have a stressful day or I just need an escape, dance gives me the opportunity to get out of my head. Growing up, I was shy and never stepped outside of my comfort zone. Through my fifteen years of dance, I learned how to be more outgoing and how to step outside of my box.

How do you want to use dance to have a positive influence on your community?

I want to inspire not only dancers but other members in my community to believe in themselves. I want show them that it’s okay to step outside of their comfort zones. For me, a solo was a scary step and without the support from my team, I would have never tried to do it. No matter if it’s something big or something small, you just have to take that risk and try something new.
