If you just graduated and are ready to head out in the world to become a professional dancer, American Contemporary Ballet might just be your perfect fit. ACB is currently looking for male and female classical ballet dancers for their 2017-2018 season.

American Contemporary Ballet is a respected company, and one any dancer would be lucky to be a part of. Here are some things you should know if you are interested in becoming an ACB dancer.

Position Details

ACB is currently hiring dancers for the 2017-18 season. Contracts are available for the full season September 2017–August 2018 (lay off approx Feb 15–May 1). Female and male classical ballet dancers hired by the company can expect contracts of $250 to $550 per week plus physical therapy and pointe shoes.

ACB is also offering apprentice contracts.

Auditions

American Contemporary Ballet will be doing both scheduled company class auditions and open calls. It is important to note that ACB prefers to see dancers at open calls. To request a company class audition, you will have to submit the following to auditions@acbdances.com:

  1. Video Center classwork (classical, women on pointe), and/or Variation(s) by Petipa or Balanchine.Your submission should include the full range of classical movement—allegro, pirouettes, extensions, etc. If your video is shot onstage from a distance, it is helpful if it is accompanied by some in-studio footage.
  2. Resume/CV
  3. Headshot and dance photos
