The trio that brought us Something Rotten! is at it again. Wayne Kirkpatrick, Karey Kirkpatrick, and John O’Farrell are collaborating on a musical based on the 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire. Featuring Tony Nominee Rob McClure (currently starring in Beetlejuice) will be taking on the staring role of the father who, while struggling with his own acting career, takes on the role of the nanny character Mrs. Doubtfire so he can spend more time with his family.

Joining McClure in the currently announced cast of the musical are Jenn Gambatese as Miranda Hillard, Brad Oscar as Frank Hillard, Analise Scarpaci as Lydia Hillard, Jake Ryan Flynn as Christopher Hillard, Avery Sellas Natalie Hillard, J. Harrison Ghee as Andre, Mark Evans as Stuart Dunmeyer, Charity Angél Dawson as Wanda Sellner, and Peter Bartlett as Mr. Jolly.

Mrs. Doubtfire boasts the hilarious tagline “She’s a New Musical, Dearie,” and we already can’t wait to see how everything from the father’s initial transformation into the beloved nanny to vacuum cleaner dances and sneaky dinner interviews will be translated into song. The previews of Mrs. Doubtfire begin November 26, 2019 at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle before the production moves to the Sondheim Theatre on Broadway in spring 2020.
