Since it skyrocketed to the top of the charts, Olivia Rodrigo’s debut album Sour has been everywhere, and with its popularity, you might be hearing some of Olivia’s hit songs at prom—or even basing your look on one of Olivia’s music videos. But, if you were hoping for a Sour-theme prom, Olivia just delivered. She announced that a virtualprom is on its way.
Having your first album debut at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart is a big deal, but Sour Prom won’t just celebrate the incredible success of Sour. Olivia just graduated high school as well! Being a superstar can make normal high school experiences like prom even more complicated than finding the perfect thing to wear and perfecting your dance moves, so Olivia is throwing her own senior prom.
“since i never got to go to prom, I wanted to throw a little prom part with my fav ppl (you guys obvs).” Olivia said on Twitter. “SOUR prom the concert film comes out Tuesday!!!!” So, dress up or dress down, get ready to dance, and grab all of the Livies you want to go to prom with.
Maybe we’re too emotional, but we’re excitedly marking our calendars for Sour Prom (no apathy here!). The concert film premieres on YouTube at 11:00 PM ET on June 29, 2020. The event will open with a “pre-party” Q&A and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film. Sour Prom the film will start at 11:30 PM ET.
