You might remember Pressley Hosbach from Dance Moms, but in the years since she appeared on the reality dance show’s eighth season, Pressley has been branching out as a performer, creative, and influencer. Along with a massive online following keeping up with her posts and TikToks, Pressley has starred in Brat TV originals like Stage Fright and Attaway General and tackled everything from hosting to fashion. You can find her podcasting with major outlets like Nickelodeon (Lego Friends Podcast) and collaborating with teen clothing brands like Windsor.

From dance to hosting to new forays into music, Pressley’s day-to-day is pretty non-stop. With so much time and energy dedicated to the entertainment industry, Pressley is something of an expert. We had to catch up with her to get an inside look at what she’s working on and how she tackles all of those projects while staying positive and taking care of herself.

Showstopper Magazine Online : Hi, Pressley! Tell us a bit about yourself.

Pressley Hosbach: Hi!! I am a 16-year-old dancer, singer, actress, and content creator. I am originally from the East Coast and after being bicoastal for 5 years, I finally moved to Los Angeles to pursue my career. While I started working at only 3 months old, I landed my first big role on the eighth season of Dance Moms. Since then, I started creating content on all social media platforms, and in only two and a half years I have grown an audience of 10 million followers. Most recently, I have been branching out into acting and singing!

SMO: You got your start on Dance Moms, but you do so much more now. Can you tell us a bit about your many (many!) projects?

Pressley: You can definitely say since Dance Moms I have been busy!! I have experienced so much and have worked on so much, but my most recent adventure is hosting the orange carpet of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on March 4 and I could not be more excited! This is actually my first ever time attending the show so that is exciting on its own. But to be hosting the carpet is unbelievable! In addition to that I have just released a prom collection with Windsor. I curated a collection of dresses for everyone. We are actually having a fashion show for the collection on Saturday, March 11 at the Irvine Spectrum in California!

SMO: How do you manage it all?

Pressley: Managing it all can definitely be tough. I mean between acting, singing, dancing, and guitar lessons every week, my schedule is a lot to juggle. I also attended many events and travel like crazy. But most importantly I am still in school!

It is definitely a lot and took me a bit to figure out how to manage it all while not burning myself out or overdoing it but knowing that I am working hard to achieve my goals is always what I remind myself daily.  But the one thing that I will say is I have made it a priority of always knowing when to take a break, slow down, rest, and even turn down plans or events and just stay home if or when I ever feel the need. Taking care of myself and my mental and physical health is for sure my number one priority.

SMO: What is your favorite part of everything you do?

Pressley: Picking a favorite part is so hard! But I would say my favorite thing would have to be the fact that I can reach people all around the world and hopefully touch people’s lives all around the world. I try to use my platform to spread positivity and joy to everyone who comes across it. So just knowing that I can maybe make some people’s day better or bring a smile to their face is my favorite thing ever.

SMO: What does spreading positivity to your fans look like? Why is it important to you?

Pressley: Spreading positivity is so important to me because I feel like it is just so simple and easy to do first and foremost. It doesn’t take anything to be kind, smile and say kind things to people. And I know how that makes me feel so it makes me happy to make other people feel the same way. The world can be scary and sad and hard sometimes so being kind and spreading positivity is so important. I also always remind myself that you never know what other people are struggling with or going through so a little positivity can really go such a long way and you never know how you can impact someone else or change their day or lives with your actions and words. I just love to see people happy.

SMO: After over a decade in the entertainment industry, growing up in it, what are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned?

Pressley: After doing this for a while I think I realize how important it is to be surrounded by good people. Finding the right circle of people can be hard but is crucial. Feeling the support from people around you is one of the most important things, and if you are around people who don’t support you and don’t want the best for you, you truly will never go as far as you can.

SMO: As you mentioned, you’ll be hosting the Kids’ Choice Awards orange carpet! What has it been like to prepare for that event? Do you have anyone you’re most excited to interview?

Pressley: Yes!!! I am SO excited to be hosting the carpet this year! There are so many great people nominated and so many people I am looking forward to interviewing. I really don’t know who is going to be there, so it’s all going to be a big surprise! And I’m actually happy that it’s going to be that way, I feel like it’s even more exciting!

SMO: You have some exciting projects coming up. One of them is your collection of prom dresses with Windsor. Can you tell us about that line?

Pressley: I am so happy I can finally share this collection with Windsor! We have been working on it for quite some time and I am just in love with everything! I truly feel like there is a dress for everyone in this line.

SMO: You will have a prom fashion show on March 11. What are you most excited for with that event?

Pressley: I think I am most looking forward to basically having my own mini-prom! Since I am homeschooled I obviously don’t get to go to school dances or anything like that, so this is so exciting for me. I am also looking forward to meeting all the people that are coming out to watch and support. And I am so happy to have so many of my friends there to walk in the show too!

SMO: The fashion show is also in support of Becca’s Closet, a non-profit that helps girls in need get prom dresses. What was it like to partner with that organization? What does it mean to you?

Pressley: I am so grateful to have the opportunity to partner with a charity as amazing as Becca’s Closet. I think that what they do is so special and to even play a small part in it is amazing. I realize how fortunate I am to be able to do so much of what I do, so being able to use my platform for such positive things and being able to give back is something that is so important to me and I feel very lucky to be able to be a part of it.

SMO: Is there anything else you’d like people to know about you or your work?

Pressley: I just want to say to keep an eye out for more exciting projects coming up this year! I’m so excited to be sharing more about my music project very soon and many more things on top of that!
