Hips, camera, action! A dancing queen is bringing more dance to the screen with a brand new competition show. Pop-sensation Shakira is gearing up for a show on NBC called Dancing with Myself.
According to Deadline, Dancing with Myself is inspired by social media’s current love of dance and dance challenges on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. There aren’t many details yet about what format the competition will take, but we’re excited to see how the dance challenges we’ve all loved and learned over the last couple of years might play a part. We do know that the dances the contestants have to learn each month will be taught to them by celebrities including Shakira!
“I’m excited to be a part of a dance competition that places such a high value on creative movement and how it translates into personal expression, not to mention how it contributes to a sense of community,” Shakira said in a press release about the show.
Prepare your best solo dances! It seems like we’re going to need to be quick on our feet if we want to learn the moves that are going to come with this show. A premiere date for Dancing with Myself has not been announced, so it will probably be a while before we find out who the first Best Dancer of the Night is, but we’re hoping this announcement means we’ll be watching soon.
