Once a ten-year-old boy went into a shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him and asked what he would like to order.
“How much is an ice cream sundae?” He asked.
“Fifty cents,” replied the waitress.
The little boy pulled some money out of his pocket and studied a handful of coins.
“How much is a plain ice cream?”
More people were beginning to arrive in need of tables and the waitress was getting impatient.
“Thirty-five cents,” she said.
The little boy counted his money again. “I’ll have the plain ice cream,” he said.
The waitress brought the boy his ice cream, put his bill on the table and walked away. The boy ate his ice cream, paid the cashier and departed.
When the waitress returned to wipe down the table, she swallowed hard at what she saw. There, placed neatly beside the boy’s empty bowl were fifteen cents – her tip.
In life, we only have so much for ourselves, but we should still strive to share our wealth whether it be money, knowledge or kindness. Are you sharing your wealth? If not, how can you start?
