Spring into Gardening with These Easy to Care for Plants

By Veronica Good

April 18, 2018

The weather is warming up. Unfortunately, a change in season does not necessarily mean that you are going to have more time to get out into nature and enjoy everything spring has to offer. One easy way to bring spring inside (and change up your decor at the same time) is to gather some plant friends! If you don’t have time to head out and experience spring in nature, you might not have time to devote to taking care of complicated plants either. Don’t worry! These five plants are so easy to take care of, you’ll wonder why you didn’t add them to your space earlier.

1. Air plants (water once a month)

If you can’t remember to water your plants no matter how many reminders you leave yourself, air plants might be your new best friend. Air plants mostly get their water from humidity in the air. Because of this, you rarely have to water them! Air plants also don’t have to be planted in soil like other plants, so you can plop these cute plants wherever you want, make sure to soak them once a month, and you’re good to go.

2. Succulents (water once a week)

The desert obviously does not get a ton of water, so neither do cactuses or succulents. These plants are small, adorable, and only require a little bit of water once a week! These are plants you will actually want to forget about because too much water could lead to some unfortunate losses.

3. Pothos (every few days)

Pothos plants are another easy addition to make to your indoor “garden.” These plants only require water when the soil is dry, so that means you will only have to grab the watering can two or three times a week depending on how quickly your soil dries up. Another benefit of pothos plants is that they grow quickly and are easy to propagate, so before you know it, you will be surrounded by pothos plants.

What plants will you be using to bring a little extra green into your life this spring?
