The latest in Starbucks’ fabulous limited edition drinks is here. This drink design is simpler than the Zombie and Unicorn Frappuccino and even some of our seasonal favorites, but its allure isn’t as much in the taste as in the possibilities.
Meet the Crystal Ball Frappuccino. Available only until March 26th, this peach-flavored treat’s claim to fame is that it can predict the future. How? The crystal sprinkles that top the peach whipped cream on every drink are meant to each convey a different meaning, but as far as we can tell, this varies by location. Starbucks doesn’t seem to have an official announcement about the meanings of the pink, green, and blue crystals randomly assigned to each drink by the barista, but the Starbucks closest to Showstopper HQ told our futures as follows – Green for luck, Blue for adventure, and Pink for love.
“A mystical, swirling peach infusion topped with peach flavored whipped cream, turquoise sprinkles and one of three different candy gems that reveal your fortune (not even your barista knows what your future holds). Order, gaze, then all will be told. And while we can’t predict what your gems will reveal, we can tell you this drink is only here for a few short days.” – Starbucks
These Frappuccinos are as limited as they come, but we’re predicting one in your very near future if you love anything sweet. They are similar to the long-time favorite Vanilla Bean Frappuccino, but the shot of peach flavoring and the peach-flavored whipped cream give the entire drink a taste similar to creamsicle. If only Starbucks had brought this out a little later in the year, it would have been the perfect summer treat! The magic is here now though, and fading fast!
