“I want to make sure everyone has a chance to do dance…Sometimes people do not have the access or ability to learn dance. But with platforms, such as social media, I can share my love for dance in many ways.”

Tell us about your dance experience!

I have been dancing for 10 years. I am well-versed in all styles of dance, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary, tap, and more. Dance is not only a hobby for me, it is my entire life. I spend 6 days out of the week dedicated to dance and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have been a very passionate dancer since a very young age. I try to make sure the audience fill every type of emotion when they see me dance. Which was why I joined the competition world. It was a way for me to not only grow as a dancer, but have a chance to display my passion to different people. I have been dancing/competing at Showstoppers since I began competing. I support everything they stand for, encouragement, passion, and GLITTER!

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

I just remember from a young age, I have always associate dance as my happy place. Whether it was going into the studio to learn from my wonderful teachers or dance beside my super-talented teammates, I have always enjoyed dance because it just feels good to do! There was a point in my life, particularly during the quarantine, where I was very discouraged and couldn’t figure out why. But I immediately found out why when I returned to the stage this year in 2022. I never knew how much an impact Dance had on my emotional well-being. Returning to dance made me ME again! I am so ecstatic that I get to share my passion with the world once again.

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

I want to make sure everyone has a chance to do dance. One way is by teaching others. Sometimes people do not have the access or ability to learn dance. But with platforms, such as social media, I can share my love for dance in many ways. As a result, they will be able to experience the joy I experience every time I get to express myself through dance. I would to start that “joy train” in my community!
