Fun fact: Kenny Ortega is the filmmaker that brought Troy Bolton, Gabriella Montez, and the rest of the Wildcats to our screens. (He’s also behind Disney’s Descendants!) We’ve been singing “Get’cha Head in the Game” since 2006, but it might be time to rock out to something new with Kenny’s latest project, Julie and the Phantoms, a new Netflix series.

Based on the 2011 Brazilian TV series Julie e os Fantasmas, Julie and the Phantoms follows Julie, played by Madison Reyes, who lost her passion for music after her mom died. But when a band of three cute ghosts, played by Charlie Gillespie, Jeremy Shada, and Owen Patrick Joyner, show up in her mom’s old music studio, things get a lot more complicated! As their friendship with Julie grows, the boys convince her to create a new band together: Julie and the Phantoms.

Julie and the Phantoms is set to premiere Thursday, September 10, 2020, on Netflix. We’re not sure if we’re more excited to watch all of Julie’s ghostly adventures or add what will definitely be an iconic soundtrack to our playlists.
