It’s 12:12 AM on August 12. If your Swiftie senses are tingling, that’s because Taylor Swift just announced the title of her 12th album.
The Eras Tour officially ended on December 8, 2024, and since Taylor said, “See you next era,” a lot has happened.
Friday, May 30, Taylor announced that she acquired the master recordings of her first six albums, and while people have been sure that the final two Taylor’s versions would follow The Eras Tour excitement, in the announcement, she reveleaed that her self-titled debut is currently sitting in the vault—waiting to be listened to!—and Reputation (Taylor’s Version) might not ever happen.
But, there’s no time to be sad! Taylor is, of course, so productive, and 2025 will be seeing Taylor’s return to music post-tour.
While Taylor Nation has spent the past week teasing Swifties to pay special attention to the month of August (and not just because of the beloved folklore track) and posting a suspicious number of orange-themed Taylor photos, Taylor has been waiting for the big reveal. Turns out, it’s not here yet!
When the 12s aligned, the title for TS12, The Life of a Showgirl, was revealed, and a CD/poster combo, cassette, and vinyl went up for “pre pre-order.” The album cover itself was mysteriously missing. All Swifties have to look at are a mint green blur covered by a sparkling orange lock. Looks like the orange door Taylor walked into at the end of The Eras Tour still isn’t quite open.
So, what else do we know?
Taylor will be appearing on her boyfriend and NFL star Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights Wednesday, August 13 at 7:00 PM ET, and based on clips shared by the show, Taylor will reveal the cover art to Travis and Jason Kelce on the podcast. (This is also Taylor’s first interview since she was TIME‘s Person of the Year in 2023, so we know she means business.)
Now all we can do is countdown to the reveal and cross our fingers that Taylor plans on sharing a few more details, like the album’s official release date and any hints at the tracklist.🧡
