Travis Wall made his Broadway debut at just twelve years old as an understudy in Susan Stroman’s 2000 revival of The Music Man (coincidentally making another return next year). Since then, he has been making a name for himself as a teacher, an award-winning choreographer for shows like So You Think You Can Dance, and, of course, as a dancer himself. Currently, Wall is back in New York working on some new theatre projects including a new off-Broadway production.
Directed by Thomas Kail (Tony Award-winning director of the Broadway hit Hamilton), The Wrong Man tells the story of a man named Duran who has been accused of a murder he didn’t commit in the town of Reno, Nevada. The story is inspired by songwriter Ross Golan’s concept album of the same name.
Driven by the haunting lyrics and melodies that Travis Wall often uses as the backdrops for his choreography, it’s no wonder he was the perfect match for this show. The performance is set to showcase Travis Wall’s talent for taking up both fluid movement and moments of stillness in the space of a scene to get at the heart of an emotional space.
The Wrong Man is currently running at the MCC Theater from until November 24, 2019.
