The first season of the International Dance League wrapped up on September 20, 2026, after a long, groundbreaking season. With six events, including the championship, six established pro dance teams battled through a series of live events.

GRV were crowned the first-ever championship winners in their hometown of Los Angeles, finishing off an incredible first season.

Each team battled from around the world, including Canada, the USA, Southeast Asia, South Korea, Norway, and New Zealand.

IDL pushed boundaries as it is the first event to host a dance competition similar to that of an actual sports event. This breakout debut hit the world by storm, with major sponsorships including e.l.f. Cosmetics as Live Stream Presenting Partner, CÎROC as Premium Hospitality Partner, Red Bull as Energy Drink Partner, and Shopify as Commerce Partner

Compared to the regular season, the championship paired up teams using their established point system. Instead, each team faced off to see who made it to the championship final.

The final teams were GRV, Brotherhood, and Jam Republic, with GRV winning the championship with a score of 94.00.

While GRV were the championship winners, Brotherhood were crowned the 2026 IDL season winner, having an undefeated season despite losing in the championship finale.

IDL is a groundbreaking event that showcases dance as more than just a hobby. With real scores and real judges, IDL has created the first-ever dance league.

By putting dance on the big stage, an audience of dedicated fans has been able to put these performances on platforms like TikTok and gain traction for the competition itself.

IDL has broken stigmas for dance like no others have, and with this only being the first season, there’s a lot more to improve.

A stage like this helps ensure that dancers and dance teams, like these pro teams, get the recognition they deserve. Not only that, but putting dance on the big screen like this proves that this can be a livelihood comparable to that of an actual sports team.
