Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada is known as the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” From Frank Sinatra to Elvis Presley in the 70s to Celine Deon’s 16-year residency, the many icons who have performed in Las Vegas have shaped the rich history of the city. From the “wowing” Cirque Du Soleil to exceptional magic acts and showstopping dance shows, there is a variety of performances to experience! Artists have been performing in Nevada on the Las Vegas strip for decades. It is this incredible history of entertainment that makes me feel so honored to perform on a world-famous stage at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino with my sisters. This is a new and unique element of my dance journey!

Come along with me for a show day, as I share some moments of inspiration from my day, the small details, and the fun highlights of my life as a professional performer in Las Vegas.

Breakfast

Rise and shine! When I wake up, I like to start my morning by writing in my dream journal, drinking water, and spending time in the sunshine excited for a show day. Cue “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter! My sisters and I enjoy some yummy breakfast together, talking about our delight for the day ahead. Today, it’s avocado toast, scrambled eggs, and chia pudding. This is fuel for a grand day of dancing.

Taking Class!

Even as a professional performer, I truly continue to love learning! Taking a dance class is a great way to train, refine my skills, and have some fun, too. In Las Vegas, there are many superb dance classes. A chance to be inspired and opportunities to try something new! My sisters and I enjoy taking class at the renowned Millennium Dance Complex Studio Las Vegas! Here you will find classes in almost every dance style with an incredible faculty. My favorites are jazz, lyrical, and theatre heels classes!

As a dancer, I am excited when I get the chance to step outside of my dance comfort zone and try something different fro the classic dance styles that I grew up training in. From learning ballroom dance styles to classic showgirl techniques in heels to acrobatic aerial silks, it is so fun and incredible to learn a new art!

Getting Madeup

After a nice lunch, I prepare my look. That means it’s makeup time! If I had a mood board to describe where the inspiration comes from for my performance makeup, there would be pictures of glitter shining, the colorful Las Vegas skyline lights, princess themes, ballerina flair, and Old Hollywood glamour. Foundation, winged eyeliner, lashes, blush, and highlighter are a formula for stage makeup with an elevated Vegas twist. I complete my performance look with a rouge red lipstick. My favorite part of the look is all of the glitter. Time to sparkle!

Warm-up and Stretch

Let’s stretch it out! It’s super important for me to warm up before any performance. Heading backstage, my warm-up routine before performing usually begins with a little cardio to get my body moving and warm, then i go through my personal routine of stretching. From head to toes, I warm up all my muscles. Next, I like to hold a plank to center my core. Before every show I stretch my left splits, right splits, and middle splits! I finish up by consistently finding my balance on relevé in all my dance positions before it’s time to dress in my costume!

Wardrobe Fashion

In sparkling Las Vegas, the performance fashion is next level. As a true fashionista through and through, I adore the costumes I get to wear as a professional performer and dancer! Fashion is art, and I believe a costume is a very important part of telling a story in any performance. From feathers to tulle to checkered print to ombre linen. Each exquisite original costume I’ve had the honor of dancing in is woven together with grand detail and love, ready to shine onstage!

Performing in Las Vegas!

Backstage before a show starts, I love the moments of tradition I get to share with my fellow castmates, from high fives to handshakes and wishing everyone a beautiful show. Right before I take the stage, my sisters and I always make a good luck circle full of “sister energy”! Showtime! Dancing on stage and performing professionally for new audiences is a complete dream come true. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my passion for dancing!

Sweet Treat

Neon lights and Las Vegas nights! After dinner, some nights deserve a sweet treat to end a sweet day. My sisters and I have a few fav spots for delightful dessert in Las Vegas. We love the restaurant Black Tap’s iconic milkshakes, full of flavor, Las Vegas pizzazz, and so much fun! Another couple sweet spots are Donutique for artistic donuts, Freed’s Bakery for anything dessert, or we adore the classic Crumbl Cookie of the week!

Viva Las Vegas! Reflecting on the day with gratitude to be able to do what I love professionally: dance! There is something so special about feeling the rush of emotions after dancing as the crowd cheers and my heart beats with happiness! Keep dreaming big!
