Netflix’s next comedy movie is a teen drama called Tall Girl, and after a worldwide casting call, they have found their 6-foot-1 star in Sparkle Society member Ava Michelle.

The movie tells that story, of course, of a tall girl. The main character Jodi is a sixteen-year-old whose height keeps her from feeling like she belongs, but she will learn that her differences are actually her strengths by the end.

Ava will be starring alongside Netflix star Griffin Gluck who will be playing Jodi’s best friend. The Goldbergs actor Luke Eisner is also making his movie debut in Tall Girl as the school’s handsome foreign exchange student. “Paris” singer Sabrina Carpenter will also be joining the cast as Jodi’s older sister while Steve Zahn and Angela Kinsey play their parents. Also on the current cast list are Paris Berelc, Anjelika Washington, Clara Wilsey, and Rico Paris.

The film started production in New Orleans in January under the direction of Nzingha Stewart who is also the mastermind behind Misty Copeland’s upcoming biopic. A release date for the film has yet to be announced.

Stay tuned for an exclusive interview with Ava Michelle on Tall Girl coming soon.
