Avery McNitt is a 13-year-old dancer from Arkansas. She dances at Northwest Arkansas Dance Company.

Tell us about your dance experience!

I am in my eighth year of competitive dance. I am also very active in community and regional theater.

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

When you are in an uplifting dance environment, you feel unstoppable. Dance teaches you that things don’t come easy but are worth working for. You build a family of support with your team and teachers that let you know you can accomplish anything.

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

I want to show my community that hard work and dedication makes a difference. I may not be the best dancer in the room, but I will be the hardest worker!
