Cuyler Daniels is a 13-year-old dancer from Illinois. He dances at Konquer Dance Company.

Tell us about your dance experience!
I recently just started dancing about two years ago. When I first found out about Konquer, I started taking one class a week with one style. Then it began to expand. I am now an assistant for different organizations and my studio! I love teaching what I love to others so I can be a part of their journey also! Dance has always been there for me. Even when I wasn’t in a studio, I was at home teaching myself how to dance. I watched YouTube videos, TikToks, Instagram, and other social media about dance. As a new member in the dance industry, especially as a boy, it is very hard. I get bullied every single day for it, but I don’t let anyone or anything stop me! My biggest inspiration is Kailey Kopel. Not only is she my teacher, but she is someone I give all my trust to. I could laugh, cry, vent to her, and she will still stand 10 toes behind me. Love you, Kay.
How does dance have a positive impact on your life?
Dance has a positive impact on my life because it is something I look forward to every day. Dance is my therapy, and when I don’t feel like talking to anyone, dance is always right there for me to let it all out.
How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?
I would like to use dance by putting myself out in the world more and stop holding back. I want people to see my talent and art!
