“I thank god for dance as much as I possibly can because it’s a gift that I get to experience everyday…I want to share my love for it and inspire others to love it as well.”

Tell us about your dance experience!

I’ve danced for 13 of my 17 years of living. My studio is genuinely my safe place. I’ve had the best possible experience at CMG Dance Project, and it’s only been open for five years. The faculty have taught me so many life lessons, and my team has been such a huge support system. I will be forever grateful for my ohana. They have opened my mind to different styles and ways of dancing and it has pushed me to be the person and dancer that I am today.

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

It has a positive impact on my life because it shows me how to control my physical and mental state. It pushes me to go past my limits. Dance is an art that understands me as much as I understand it. It moves through me in the best way and it lets me create new and exciting adventures. I thankfully get to share these creations with kids and teens. I thank god for dance as much as I possibly can because it’s a gift that I get to experience every day.

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

I want to share my love for it and inspire others to love it as well.
