“Dance has taught me so much. It has taught me to be strong, to be respectful, and to work hard for something I love so much. It has also taught me friendship…my dance friends are my best friends”

Tell us about your dance experience!

I have been dancing for seven years, and this past competition season our duet placed first overall and my solo placed first in category and I received a Double Platinum. Then for Showstopper nationals for our duet, we placed second overall, and for my solo, I placed first overall national champion with a Double Platinum. Also during the season, I titled and placed first overall [in] other competitions as well. I absolutely love dance of all kinds. I am 9 years old and homeschooled so I can focus on dance. I am also 9 years old and a teacher’s assistant for all recreational classes in our studio. Dance is my life.

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance has taught me so much. It has taught me to be strong, to be respectful, and to work hard for something I love so much. It has also taught me friendship because my dance friends are my best friends and we do everything together.

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

My studio friends and I love doing things for our community. We love to help with Toys for Tots as well as other charities and we also love to perform for many community functions.
