Tell us about your dance experience!
I have been dancing since I was 4 years old. I’ve danced in so many styles but my favorites are contemporary, ballroom, and tap. I wasn’t the best listener at first, but through time and some wonderful coaches, I have grown. Dance hasn’t always come easy for me. Picking up choreography hasn’t always been my strong suit, but I’m getting better at it! I’ve had amazing people push me to be better, but I’ve also had people tell me I’m not good enough because I’m a boy. No matter what anyone has ever said, I love to dance. It’s how I express myself. When I feel something strongly, I improv to get my feelings out. Dance is art and it moves you!
How does dance have a positive impact on your life?
Dance helps me express my feelings. It helps me dig deep to get emotions out that I can’t always put to words. Dance has helped me grow as a performer and a person. It’s taught me to be brave in front of others! It’s made me physically strong, and partnered me with my best friend!!
