Happy fall!

A pumpkin patch adventure was my first step toward embracing the season and its (many) festivities. I always dress up for this family tradition.

Did you know? There are over 150 varieties of pumpkins around the world, including the Jack O’ Lantern pumpkin to the Fairytale pumpkin, the Cinderella pumpkin, the Sugar Pie pumpkin, and the Baby BOO pumpkin.

Whether you’re pumpkin picking, holiday shopping, or just enjoying cooler weather, you can create a fashion-forward OOTD. The weather is cooling down, but the fashions of the season are hot! Let’s explore the latest trends and give everyone pumpkin to talk about!

“Some see only a pumpkin, but others see a carriage fit for a princess.”

I like to start styling any OOTD with clear inspiration. For this look, I drew inspiration from fall colors and earth tones as well as this season’s trending styles.

Making the OOTD

This year’s fall fashion trends are soft and natural. Vogue looks forward to fashionable “romantic separate that nod to the bohemian spirit…” For my look, I embraced the trend with a modern two-piece set with elements of boho chic style. This matching separate ensemble features a full-length skirt and top of ombre fabric swirled in earthy tones, mirroring the beauty of fall leaves floating down from the trees in the wind. This look brings in the sweet warmth of autumn and the hope of a butterfly! I love feeling connected to nature through beautiful, elegant fashion.

Nature in Fashion

What are “earth tones”? An earth-toned color palette includes hues like warm brown, forest green, light tan, soft cream, rust orange, calming beige, and dusty pink. These colors resemble natural hues we see in nature like the color of the sky, sun, soil, and plants. (They have been runway favorites this season!) Using earth tones in fashion gives an outfit balance and versatility.

Style and Accessorize

When styling outfit details, add accessories that mean something special to you. Vogue encourages us to “Lean into accessories to play up your personal style, consider belts, gloves, and statement jewelry for finishing touches that define your point of view.” To glam up my pumpkin-picking outfit, I added some gold shimmer jewelry and rhinestone copper high heels. Next, I paired two of my unique bracelets with this look. Simple and sweet, these little accessory additions become happy reminders for me every time I look at my hand to see the beads spelling out “Fearless” and “Keep going.”

HAVE FUN!

The most important thing to remember is to have fun with fashion. Vogue says, “Why save your best pieces for just special occasions? From Stell McCartney to Undercover, designers and brands are encouraging us to inject playfulness and whimsy into the everyday. The unwritten style memo? Have fun!”

I adore this approach to styling. You can achieve this by dressing up in the outfit you love for any event whether you are pumpkin picking, on a shopping adventure, or going to dance! Embrace your fun, personal style, and all its uniqueness and beauty! I love that we can express ourselves through fashion. Every day is like a new fashion show!

Pumpkin Wishes and Cinnamon Kisses

This season embraces visions of pumpkins, dancing fall leaves, cinnamon spice, and festival fun. I delight in the beautiful colors of nature during this time of year. Styling an OOTD that incorporates the coolest trends of fall and its earthy palette is fabulous.

“I can smell autumn dancing in the breeze. The sweet chill of pumpkin and crisp sunburnt leaves.”
