Iliana Camacho is a 9-year-old dancer from New Jersey. She dances at Dance with Me Dance Studio.

Tell us about your dance experience!

Iliana started at 2 and a half in creative movement for two years she was in recreation and then she joined her dance team and has been dancing for six years and has done Showstopper’s competitions every year as well as others. She takes jazz acro ballet and tap. She just loves to dance and still working on technique and just to become a great dancer

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

For Iliana, she’s social. She lives to make friends and just get on that stage. It really has given her confidence and the ability to get on stage knowing that she doesn’t have a typical “dance body.”

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

We want other dancers who are not perfect but work hard and strives to learn dance to know that all body types are welcomed. Dance is no size. That working hard and lots of practice you can do anything you put your mind to. All body types are amazing and accepted in the dance community.
