“I’ve been able to volunteer at my local Boys and Girls Club [as a] dance instructor…I hope to continue spreading my talent of dancing to those who do not get the same opportunities as me and spread the message that anyone can dance!”
Tell us about your dance experience!
I have danced my whole life. I have dance practice every day of the week and train in all styles of dance at my studio. I fell in love with being on the stage and performing at a young age and have not stopped since!
How does dance have a positive impact on your life?
I love being able to show my love of dance with others through entertaining crowds. I competed this past summer at the Miss North Carolina Outstanding Teen Scholarship Competition. I was able to win the Preliminary Talent award, and I owe it all to my dance studio and the work and practice I put in every day of the week. Dance has always taught me to never give up even when you lose and to work hard if you want to achieve something.
How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?
Through dance, I’ve been able to volunteer at my local Boys and Girls Club in my state and be the dance instructor. Watching the kids improve each week and practice for their big performance made me so proud and happy that I get to share my love of dance with kids who don’t get the chance to dance competitively or even at a dance studio. I hope to continue spreading my talent of dancing to those who do not get the same opportunities as me and spread the message that anyone can dance!
