“Challenge yourself to rise above your [deepest] insecurities and be a role model for all dancers to know that dance can build inner strength, self confidence and leadership skills in ways that no other platform can.”

Tell us about your dance experience!

I have been dancing since I was 5 years old and have danced both in studio and in my elementary middle and high school dance teams.

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance has impacted me in a very positive way because it was the one place I could be my authentic self and not allow my anxiety to take hold. Dance has given me a platform to express what sometimes gets stuck in my head and has given me the safe space to express it.

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

I want to use dance as a way to teach others how to learn to take your own self-doubt and find a voice in movement. Challenge yourself to rise above your deep wait insecurities and be a role model for all dancers to know that dance can build inner strength, self-confidence, and leadership skills in ways that no other platform can. I have learned to rise above and have won numerous competitions, be an apprentice, offered scholarships, and danced with professional choreographers. It’s helped me manage my anxiety and offer an avenue of self-expression.
