Tell us about your dance experience!
I started when I was 3 with a ballet and tap class. By the time I was 6, I was dancing competitively, and have been ever since! I did my first solo at age 9, as well as my first nationals. At my first nationals, I was in the intermediate division and won the national championship. Since then, I have moved up to the elite division, and consistently place top five with my solos. I had the honor to attend Showstopper Nationals in 2021 and perform in the [Opening Number]. I’m hopeful to have the honor to do that again this year in Sandusky! I also was invited to attend The Dance Awards this past summer, and compete my solo for Best Dancer. I was honored to be selected to perform in the ballroom section of the TDA closing ceremony! This year I just started homeschooling so I can further enhance my dance training!
How does dance have a positive impact on your life?
Dance has a positive impact on my life because it just brings me so much joy! When I am dancing, I clear my mind and just focus on what I love. The relationships that I have built through dance in my studio, and throughout the country, is something so so special. There are endless positive impacts that dance has on my life, I could go on and on!
How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?
I want nothing more than to give back to the younger generation of dancers, just like so many people have poured into me! I’m so grateful that I currently have the opportunity to help assist in multiple younger classes at my studio. I want to continue to inspire the next generation to love dance as much as I do!
