Tell us about your dance experience!

I have been dancing in a studio since I was 3, and my mom will say I’ve been dancing since I was born. I try anything and everything, yet I am cautious with my time management. I am young so I don’t want to burn out, I love dance too much! I started my first solo at age 6, and I love doing them. I love going to conventions and being pushed and meeting friends from all over. I also take a lot of outside classes within Minnesota. I enjoy doing that because I meet friends from other studios and when I see them at comps we can cheer for each other! So far I have to say I have had an amazing dance experience!

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

The positive impact dance has had on my life is I get to travel and meet new people. I love it! I have amazing dance friends that I know care about me and we laugh so much together. I have fantastic teachers that are supportive and push me out of my comfort zone. Dance also keeps my mental health in check! If I didn’t have dance I feel I would be easily triggered. I am happy to go to dance and content when I come home. I sleep well and my body is strong. I also feel like dance has made others feel good. I had one solo after covid that when I was done performing people would come up and tell me my solo always makes them happy! I loved that!

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

Dance makes people smile and cry! I think feeling your emotions is a very positive thing. I love that I help people feel good and I like that people can connect and have real emotions (crying) from watching a performance. I also can’t wait until I can help in the younger classes because I love being supportive to the littles! I have so many supportive role models that helped me when I was little and still do! I also can’t wait to be able to help with Darby’s Dancers!
