Tell us about your dance experience!

I’ve been dancing since I was three. I love ballet and contemporary, but I also take class in musical theater, acro, tap, jazz, and hip hop.

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

It gives me confidence and a sense of accomplishment. I dance because it helps me express myself, and I love sharing my joy of moving when I perform.

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

I’m not a typical ballet dancer because I’m shorter, more muscular, and Chinese. I’m proud of my heritage and my body type. I want to show other dancers that if you work hard and want to perform, there’s a place for you. You don’t have to fit into the typical box of what a dancer should look like.
