Sloane Landy is a 10-year-old dancer from Kansas. She dances at Premier Dance.

“No matter what kind of day I’m having, the second I walk into my studio I feel at ease. I have so much fun with my dance friends/family and love to let loose and let my worries stay at the door!”

Tell us about your dance experience!

I have been dancing since I was 2 but starting competing at 6 1/2. My favorite styles is jazz and love to tumble and contortion. I do really love all styles of dance though!

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

My dance studio is my safe place. No matter what kind of day I’m having, the second I walk into my studio I feel at ease. I have so much fun with my dance friends/family and love to let loose and let my worries stay at the door!

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

I’m only 9 years old, but I love being a role model to the younger dancers in my studio. Every Tuesday I assist an acro class. I love helping everyone achieve their goals. And if all they want to do that day is sit and chat about something, I’m happy to do that too. Being a big sister to the Littles is one of my favorite parts of being on the team.

I hope I make their day better. I hope they smile when they get home because of something I helped them to achieve.
