I am a Latin ballroom dancer and only that! I have been dancing for six years now, and I have never loved anything more. I love Latin ballroom because the energy of ballroom competitions. [They] are so lively and intense. You never stop moving, and you are constantly learning new things and new ways to improve. I also compete at convention competitions and competitions like Showstopper! I do solos, trios, and group dances with my team. These are so fun because I get to watch all the other amazing dancers and other styles, as well as spread more awareness of ballroom dancing with my team. I am also a Killer B for Lacey Schwimmer and a CB girl for Chelsea B Dancewear. I have also modeled for Weissman costumes. I also teach kids ages 4 to 10 as well as occasionally couples and adults. I am so grateful for every opportunity I get and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

If you would have told me 10 years ago I would be a ballroom dancer, I would have never believed. However, now I can’t imagine my life without it. Dance is a huge part of me that will never go away. I have met so many people along my journey, but I have also learned so much about myself. Dance has taught me how to work hard, how to deal with stressful situations, and most of all has shown me what it’s like to have a passion. Dance has helped me through the hardest times in my life and has never failed to motivate me. I have learned what it’s like work with a team, and the team I have grown with over the years has showed me true friendship and teamwork. Overall dance will forever be a part of me wherever God decides to take me.

How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?

Being a teacher, I get the opportunity to impact kids every day. I would love to use dance to provide a safe place for kids to learn about themselves and how to build a good work ethic. I think learning how to work hard at a young age can install values and morals in a person for the rest of their life.
