It has only been a couple of weeks since Netflix announced its upcoming series with High School Musical director Kenny Ortega, Julia and The Phantoms, and we’ve been hoping for a look at what is sure to be the memorable soundtrack ever since.
The series, coming to Netflix September 10, is about a young girl named Julie who, after her mom’s death, has lost her passion for music until she unexpectedly meets and befriends the cute ghosts of an almost-famous band called Sunset Curve (named after the famous curve on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles). Together, Julie and her phantom friends turn their shared love of music and their relationship with the other side into a band called Julie and The Phantoms. Today, Netflix released a music video teaser of one of the songs from the series’ soundtrack. Recorded by Julie (Madison Reyes) and the Phantoms (Charlie Gillespie, Jeremy Shada, and Owen Joyner) across three time zones, the teaser is an acoustic version of “Edge of Great”.
It’s only part of the song, but we know it’s going to be stuck in our head for days!
