At Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater for the first time, the 77th Annual Tony Awards aired live on CBS Sunday. Hosted for the third and last (at least for now) time by Ariana Debose, the 28 nominated shows waited excitedly for the award announcements.

It was a night of major wins. Kara Young is the first actress of color to receive Tony nominations three consecutive years in a row and this year’s Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play for her performance in Purlie Victorious. The Outsiders had its wow for an incredible on-stage performance complete with rain and snagged the win for Best Musical. (Did you know that Showstopper All-Star RJ Higton plays Chet?) Broadway icons Daniel Radcliffe, Sarah Paulson, Jonathan Groff, and Jeremy Strong took home Tony Awards in acting categories.

Of the winners, both Jonathan Groff and Maleah Joi Moon accepted their awards, Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical and Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical respectively in tears as the celebrated their first-time Tonys wins.
