Fall is fast approaching, which means lattes, cozy sweaters, and cooler weather. However, along with the cooler weather comes staying indoors more, which can lead to feelings of sadness or loneliness. So, let’s make it a priority to stay cozy, comfortable, and happy this fall.

Starting with a Fall-Themed Treat

Nothing feels more like fall than having some warm and tasty fall treats, from a warm latte to pumpkin pie. So make yourself a cup of matcha, chai tea, or coffee after rehearsal as a nice way to wind down. Pair your cozy drink with a yummy fall snack, like apple pie or toasted pumpkin seeds. This is just a small thing you can do to bring up your mood while also enjoying some seasonal comfort food. Nothing could be better after a long day of classes.

Get Some Fresh Air

Taking time to get outside and enjoy the fresh air is a nice reset after a long day at dance. Breathing in some fresh air can help you reset your mood and give you an energy boost. Take a walk in the park, or even do some dance improv in your backyard with some headphones in, whatever gets you outside and moving for a change of scenery.

Put on Your Coziest Outfit

Fall is the best time to pull out your cozy and comfortable outfits. Put on your favorite oversized hoodie or sweat suit, fuzzy socks, or just throw on a flannel after dance class. Your comfort can impact your mood throughout the day.

Fall Tip: If you’re winding down in cozy clothes, light a fall-scented candle or turn on twinkle lights to help create a cozy vibe.

Keep Your Body Moving

It is okay to take a day off to move your body outside of dancing. You don’t always need to push a new intense combo. You can try something softer and easier, such as a stretch routine, yoga, or just dancing slowly to some music in your room. Movement can help to uplift your mood through producing endorphins that are going to make you feel happier and more at peace.

Doing Some Fall Self-Care

Keeping a short self-care routine will help you to stay at peace even after a long day. Put on a face mask, give yourself a new manicure or pedicure, or journal about your thoughts throughout the day. These activities give you something to look forward to at the end of the day.

Connecting With Your People

Sometimes the best pick-me-up is to reach out to those who love and care for you. Call or FaceTime a friend from dance class, watch a movie with your family, or go thrifting for some new fall outfits with your friends. If you are at the studio, take a moment to hang out with teammates before or after practice. Laughing and hanging out with friends can make things feel lighter and less serious.
