“I know a dance class is not an option for everyone, but anyone can just go to their room and move to the beat of their favorite song.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance has had a very positive impact on my life. It has helped me become someone that is prepared, focused, patient, and dedicated. I learned to be a better team player because of my competition dance team. It has also helped me deal with [the] stress of middle school and just being a teenager. Dancing allows me to just be myself, burn excess energy, and forget about tests and school drama. A huge impact is the friendships I have made over the years.

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

I would love to use dance to help kids deal with anxiety. At school, I see and hear about so many kids that deal with anxiety. When I dance, I forgot about things and just be in the moment. I am able to forget about my troubles and just be me without the stress of being a teenager. I know a dance class is not an option for everyone, but anyone can just go to their room and move to the beat of their favorite song.
