Tate McRae recently dropped a new single collaboration with rapper Lil Mosey, after teasing her fans last week that a new track was coming out. (Cue lots of eyes emojis from the Tate stans.) Not only is the track a surprise collab it’s also released with a lyric video that has major superhero vibes.
The song, “vicious,” comes after her 2020 US concert tour was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has a gritty feel compared to her usual mellow and emotional tracks. Her fans are excited about this. In the comments on the lyric video, many shared excitement about that and the superhero mood of the animations in the video.
As many of her fans have noted, Tate has come a long way from “i wrote a song” to “vicious,” and with this track, she seems to be experimenting with new sounds. Who knows? Maybe we will see Tate’s music in a future movie soundtrack. It seems like she might even be ready to play a superhero herself.
