In case you missed it, one of this summer’s biggest hits is Taylor Swift’s first post-Reputation single, “ME!”. The upbeat single featuring Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie is full of the color and positivity that seem to be a major part of the TS7 era’s theming. The music video is also full of Easter eggs–the hints Taylor loves to scatter throughout her songs and music videos for her fans to find–and she might have just given away a big one.

Ever since “ME!” came out, Swifties have been obsessing over one particular moment. When the camera pans over the skyline of this pastel city to Taylor sitting on a rooftop, there’s a neon sign in the distance that says “Lover”. Since she has used to signs and words scattered throughout the backdrop of a video to share lyrics and titles before (see the “…Ready for It?” music video), fans were certain Taylor was trying to send a message with the sign.

Swifties were even more convinced that Lover would be playing a part in the upcoming album when the lyrics video for “ME!” was released on YouTube. The word “Lover” is capitalized and even in cursive.

So, “lover” has to be an easter egg, right? Of course! But the problem is, people hadn’t quite caught the hint, so in an interview with The Independent about her recent single, Taylor took the hint just a bit further. When asked, “How many clues are there to the album title in the video?”, she responded, “I think you see it once and you hear it twice.”

A quick look through the lyrics shows that lover appears exactly twice in the song’s two pre-chorus moments. “Baby doll, when it comes to a lover / I promise that you’ll never find another like / Me-e-e, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh”.

So, it looks like TS7 might just be called Lover. Some Swifties who think that the upcoming album will actually be a double album have posed the theory that the title of the album might actually be Lovers with side A labeled “Me” and side B labeled “You” (in corresponding blue and pink to match Taylor’s shifting hair lately). However lover plays into the title, we’re sure we’ll love it.
