Happy February!

I love this time of year. It almost feels like the air is pink. There are hearts everywhere, and a bold pink and red color palette dominates.

There’s something so sweet about the Valentine’s Day season. It invites us to smile at the hearts all around and romanticize little things, like handwritten notes, flowers, chocolates, teddy bears, and the clothes we wear.

February 14th is the perfect day to lean into fashion that feels fun and fearless. Embrace the color pink! Style is not about dressing for someone else. I think the essence of fashion is about dressing for you and what makes you feel like your absolute best self. Just as you may express yourself through dance, you can express yourself with styled outfits and the pieces you love. Don’t worry about being too loud, to patterned, or too unique.

Your outfits represent you! It’s a celebration, so let’s love our look and dress up!

Look 1: Mix and Match

This heartfelt holiday is one of my favorites because it’s time to start bringing color back into our wardrobes ahead of spring. Say hello to all of the pink and red pieces in your closet! Pink-core activated!

When styling any outfit, I like to lay out a few different clothing options to pair together while I put on my favorite song. I try on different things, mixing and matching them into outfits and dancing around in the mirror. From fun prints to soft silhouettes to cool textures, fashion lets us play with how we look and how we feel. The unique design or fabric of an article of clothing can make it look so fun!

Get the Look:

  • Pink and red striped knit sweater with buttons
  • Polka dot red cotton activewear shorts
  • Hot pink sporty tennis shoes
  • Cream cool eyewear sunnies

Look 2: Wear Your Heart on Your Pants

Heart hair clips, heart eyes, heart-printed pants! Hearts can be expressed in more ways than one, and your Valentine’s Day look is the perfect time to experiment. Whether you want classic, cartoonish, love hearts or something subtle and cool, it’s the heart’s time to shine. This season’s style is all about love.

Pick out fashion pieces that you adore to wear this holiday! For a look like this, start with the style or silhouette you want to wear and then fill in your heart-themed pieces to dress up or down for the occasion. You have only a few goals: dress with love, dip your style in pink, accessorize with sparkles, and sprinkle it all with hearts.

Get the Look:

  • Red sparkle teddy bear t-shirt
  • Light pink bell-bottom pants with heart details
  • Pink sneakers
  • Brown oval-shaped glasses
  • Heart and glitter hair clips
  • Colorful bracelet stack
