Giselle, Evangeline, and Mercedes Lomelino AKA the GEM Sisters are hard at work to keep their fans entertained and motivated with their YouTube channel, TikTok, and other social media platforms. This means they have a lot to do every day, but what about all of the other fun and entertaining things they get up to in-between skits and “Miss Mom” vlogs? We had to catch up with the main members of the #GemSquad to find out what they’re doing to stay busy while social-distancing.
Their Current Watch-List
Giselle, Evangeline, and Mercedes are enjoying each other’s company. “Right now, we are having fun watching TV together,” the girls said. They’ve been watching everything from movies to anime! “Some of our favorites are Victorious, Aquamarine, Mean Girls, Sleepover, and My Hero Academia.”
A Perfect Pop Playlist
The GEM Sisters sing together, but they all have their own favorites. Each of their go-to playlists has a different popular artist leading the way. Mercedes is all about Ariana Grande right now, Giselle is loving Shawn Mendes’ swoon-worthy tunes, and Evangeline is all about the tracks Norwegian DJ Alan Walker puts together with artists from around the world.
Must-Reads (and Re-Reads!)
Whether you’re looking for something short and sweet (and maybe a bit sad), a long trip into paranormal drama, or even a graphic novel, the GEM Sisters’ current reads are probably exactly what you’re looking for. “I just started Twilight, and I love it,” Mercedes shared with us. Giselle is currently spending time with one of John Green’s most popular books, “I’m reading The Fault in Our Stars for the second time,” she said. Branching out of the YA genre, Evangeline said, “I am on book three of the graphic novel series Naruto.”
Podcasts?
Giselle, Mercedes, and Evangeline are filling a lot of their time with music and dance, but podcasts are pretty much new to them. “We don’t really listen to podcasts,” they said, “but we would love some recommendations!” You can follow the GEM Sisters on Instagram (@gem.sisters) to interact with them and share your fave podcasts.
Staying Creative
It’s no surprise that the creative trio are exercising their talents in a variety of ways. “We are doing lots of things to keep entertained while we stay home,” they said. “Of course, social media and making TikToks, but we’re also singing, drawing, and playing the ukulele.” If there’s anything the GEM Sisters have shown us with their routine, it’s that the sky is the limit with what you can do and learn right now.
