Tell us about your dance experience!
I’ve been dancing for two and a half years. I started dancing in the beginning of COVID-19 lockdown. I had been searching for something that would make me happy and help express myself better. I’m very lucky that I found dance because, since day one, I knew I was passionate about it and I would want to do it for the rest of my life.
My experience in TC The Company has been amazing. That is the academy I practice every day in. They have helped me to grow so much and I know they will keep doing it. In general, it has been such a memorable experience, and I know in the future is going to keep being the same.
How does dance have a positive impact on your life?
The day I stepped foot on a dance floor I felt something I’ve never felt before. It was such a good but scary feeling. Scary because I knew that my whole life would depend on it. It has a positive impact in my life because when I’m mad, sad, happy, etc. I can express myself by dancing. That’s the way people know what’s going on with me. Sometimes I’m not feeling the best, and when I start dancing it’s like I’m in a movie. Dancing feels so good, it’s like therapy. It really makes my day when I dance.
How do you want to use dance to have a positive impact on your community?
I want to use dance to have a positive impact on my community by helping present and future generations express and communicate themselves better, just like I do. I want them to feel the same thing I feel. I want them to feel empowered. Not only help them in that way but also mentally and emotionally. Not everybody has the same chances and opportunities as others and it’s not easy. At the end, no matter what we are going through we can always make it.
