She’s a fashion icon with a downright fabulous sense of style, the foremost inspiration behind a viral fashion trend circulating the style scene (Did someone say Barbiecore?), the main character of the upcoming blockbuster movie, pop culture queen, and the doll who rocks pink like no other. Hello, Barbie!

“This will be the summer of Barbie,” says Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour. With the upcoming Barbie movie directed by Greta Gerwig and produced by Margot Robbie’s production company LuckyChap releasing so soon, the Barbie buzz is real. Across generations and through the six decades of Barbie’s ongoing legacy, Barbie fashion has always been evolving, unique, bold, pink-filled, fun, and reflective of the present trends. I think that is why Barbie is one of my all-time fav fashion muses ever since I was a little girl.

California Dreaming! I got the chance to explore the World of Barbie Exhibit in Los Angeles and take a real step into Barbie’s fabulous world. The Ultimate Barbie DreamHouse filled with adventure, each room of the exhibit is full of creativity, bright colorful creations, Barbie details, and every shade of pink under the sun. (I even found a pair of Barbie’s perfectly pink pointe shoes.) Unlock your Barbie girl summer, and let’s dance our way through these sets.

Barbie’s Closet

Let’s step into a wonderland of fashion inspiration. Many world-renowned brands and designers have contributed to Barbie’s fashion throughout the years.

“The most beautiful thing you can be is yourself.”

Barbie Mariposa

Mattel has collaborations of limited-edition dolls with major fashion houses such as Oscar de la Renta, Christian Dior, Balmain, Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger, Moschino, and Karl Lagerfeld. In Barbie’s DreamHouse closet, there’s a wardrobe of clothes, purses, dresses, heels, accessories, and even dance shoes. Barbie’s closet variety is amazing! There really are no rules when it comes to fashion. Wear what you love!

Barbie Movie Theater

With a pink carpet and lavender seats, this super cute space in Barbie’s DreamHouse is the perfect place to watch all the best movies. Did you know that there are over 40 Barbie movies starting with the 2001 classic Barbie in the Nutcracker?

Barbie Kitchen

What is Barbie cooking up in her adorable kitchen? Think pink! Walking into Barbie’s sweet DreamHouse kitchen. I found fruit tarts, rainbow macarons, and of course, pink cupcakes. Yum!

Barbie Interstellar Airways

Like Aqua said in the song “Barbie Girl,” “Imagination, life is your creation!” Every day is a new adventure just like Barbie.

“If it comes in PINK, I want it.”

Barbie Camper

The perfect pink featuring a license plate that says BARBIE. My sisters and I definitely had the toy version of this Barbie Doll Camper when we were younger.

Barbie Music Studio

As the winner of American Idol, Barbie of course had an epic music studio to create in. On beat and jamming out to our favorite songs! Follow the rhythm of your dreams and keep it up, rockstar! (My favorite part of this room was getting to play Barbie’s pink electric guitar! A princess and a pop star!

“Listen to the beat of your heart and keep on dancing!” -Barbie

Barbie Beach

Malibu Barbie it is. Barbie’s DreamHouse backyard features epic views of the California coast and sunshine for days. Beach vibe and ultra retro glam. Pink surfboard of my dreams, ready to catch some waves with Ken! Summer sun and lots of fun! Come on, Barbie! Let’s go party.
