Summer will be here before you know it, and it is going to be the best one yet! Summer 2024 is going to be a great one whether you spend most of it by yourself or with friends. Why? Well, for starters, we’re agreeing to spend less time on our phones and more time outside. There’s plenty to do, but here are some of our favorite screen-free activities.

Sleepover

A staple summer activity, throwing a sleepover is so much fun. Get your friends or siblings together and plan a fun night. Every sleepover is different! Try blanket forts, a trampoline sleepover, air mattresses, or even a campout in the backyard. Put on a light-hearted movie, play games like charades, and don’t forget the snacks! If you want a challenge, baking a cake is always entertaining and leaves you with a delicious dessert after.

Host a craft day

Crafts are coming in HOT this summer, and for good reason too. They allow you to get creative and let your personality shine through whatever you make. Pinterest will become your new best friend with ideas from DIY tote bags to friendship bracelets. Match with your BFF! There are endless ideas that you are sure to find that you will like.

Start a Business

Summer is the perfect time to let your inner entrepreneur shine through. School is out, so if you have something you are passionate about and could see yourself making a brand out of, go for it! Start a jewelry line, upcycle thrifted clothes, or make candles. Turn your passions into something more.

Get a Job

Summer vacation is also the perfect time to get work experience. If getting a job by yourself makes you feel anxious, interview for potential jobs with a friend. Lifeguarding, ice cream shop attendant, camp counselor, or bakery employee are all great first-job options! Many places also hire up for the busy season, so you’ll have more options. Plus, this is a great way to earn some extra cash to put into savings or splurge on something you want to save up for.
