Friends, we are stylin’ in pink! The current trend forecast is sunny with a chance of all things rosy, cute, and hot pink. My favorite color under the sun, pink is a current high fashion favorite and it’s flooding our everyday looks, too. So, let’s think pink. Satin pointe shoes, cotton candy, flowers, flamingos, fashion! From sweet-smelling roses to cute pink deserts and classical dance to clothing store displays, pink is everywhere. Is it any wonder? Pink is a color so chic and on point(e) that even Barbie knows!

Harper’s Bazaar called hot pink “the color trend to rule 2022.” Lately, the fashion scene has been all about pink from head to toe, leaving us with plenty of pink-spiration. A hue with shades that range from bold to bright to happy, pink is perfect for adding a wow factor to your fashion. Truly there is no such thing as too much pink.

2022 has been the year of pink. Major fashion labels like Alexander McQueen brought the shade to the runway in Spring/Summer 2022 collections, and it’d be hard to forget Valentino’s all-pink runway. Harry Styles went for big pink vibes in fuschia ostrich feathered Gucci at Coachella while Anne Hathaway sparkled in pink sequins at Valentino’s Haute Couture show in Italy. We’re still on the edge of our seats for more pink-saturated images of Margot Robbie in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie!

In fact, some of our perfect pink looks we can thank Barbie for directly. SVP of Design for Barbie and Fashion Dolls Kim Culmone told InStyle, “For Barbie, pink represents limitless potential and is a symbol of female empowerment…” Seventeen also traces bright pink looks (complete with rhinestones, sparkles, and feathers) to the Barbie aesthetic.

You don’t have to be Barbie to look iconic in pink. From clothing and shoes to accessories and jewelry, pink is a color that styles great with any look. Have fun! Dress it up, down, casual, formal, or just accessorize with pink. Have fun with your style choices and get creative with a look that is totally you!

Here are a few of my favorite ways to style outfits that are perfectly pink!

Full Monochrome

Head-to-toe pink is so in. The first monochrome fashion trend is as simple as wearing the same color tone for your entire outfit from your earrings to your shoes. To create a monochrome look, start by shopping your own wardrobe to find like-colored pieces and accessories. This pigmented look is easy to achieve, especially if you have a lot of color options. For a dedicated monochrome look, you can even match your nails and makeup to your outfit!

When you pair like shades of pink together, it’s an immediate standout style. Bold pink shades like magenta or strawberry are an instant wow while subtle sweet shades like baby pink or peach are perfect for a more mellow, pastel vibe. There is no such thing as too much of one color when it comes to monochrome (and it can work in any color!).

Pink to the Core

Designing an outfit around a core color is a great styling hack. For a pink-core outfit, choose a pink article of clothing to build your outfit around. From there, layer, style, and use your fashion senses to create an outfit your feel great in! With pink as the base of your outfit, mix and match fun pieces according to your personal style and fashion voice. You can add more color with neutrals, basics, prints, and patterns—floral and cheetah are great friends of pink—and even style with texture fabrics like faux leather, silk, or denim. Style in your wardrobe go-to’s to make it all your own.

Pink Accents

There are so many perfect pink combinations. Pink is such a compatible fun color to incorporate into your daily outfits, regardless of color scheme. Let pink be that pop of color that spices up your OOTD. Style pink as a bold accent color by including it in your shoes, accessories, jewelry, purse, and other small outfit details.

Go pink! I like adding a pink flair to neutral-colored outfits with a Fuschia shoes or dressing up an everyday classic t-shirt and jeans combo with a magenta purse. A classic dance ensemble is the perfect match for a glam pink velvet ballet skirt and pink hair accessories. Some days even call for swapping my usual cream-colored sunglasses for hot pink princess sunnies!

Looking ahead to the future of fashion, Vogue is anticipating a pink fall, too. “…given fall collections, the tone is sure to keep its allure for more than a single season. Here’s to many more hot pink outfits come fall!” Prepare your pink emojis, people. Pink fashion is year-round thing.
