The 2020 VMAs took on a whole new format Sunday night. To keep the awards show safe and entertaining during the pandemic, MTV turned the event into a tour of the New York City Boroughs, featuring performances on different outdoor stages.
The Weeknd took home the coveted Video of the Year Award for “Blinding Lights.” Lady Gaga took home the most Moon Man trophies for her work over the last year, winning five categories including Artist of the Year. Ariana Grande and BTS were close behind her, each winning four categories.
