Whether you have been going for years or you’re attending your first big competition, it is a big deal. From early morning rehearsals to late-night awards, you’ll want to be as prepared as possible so that you can focus on doing what you love, performing and expressing yourself through dance. Packing for big competitions can feel overwhelming and extreme. To help you out, here’s your ultimate guide to everything you’ll need. We’re talking costumes, hair, makeup, snacks, and everything you might forget along the way.
Costume & Performance Essentials
Costumes
- One full set per routine, labeled and on a hanger
- Extra tights (always bring backups!)
- Matching accessories (gloves, headpieces, belts, etc.)
- Undergarments (nude bras, dance briefs, body liners)
Shoes
- Jazz shoes
